DATE ~

LOCATION ~
Leigh Woods - meet at Spike Island Gallery 2.
SUBJECT ~
CAVE
DETAILS ~
The cave is many things; the birth place of drawing, a member of the shadow kingdom, a Freudian sex symbol and our original home. Caves are still here regardless of our techno-evolving, under the city's wing, within the minds and territories we inhabit, original cave states persist. We will visit a few of these hollow, natural passages within the enclave of Bristol's Liegh Woods, the guides will take you down a path interspersed with cave-like concerns. Expect a drawing journey with fire, re-enactments, questions and experiments. Bring only black foods and ingredients and be prepared to climb some potentially slippery and slidey slopes.
BIO~
Kayle Brandon Kayle Brandon loves nature and is an artist researcher interested in public, spatial and social relations, domestic infrastructure, country crafts, ecology, outward bound adventure and naturalist pursuits.
Lady Stubbs Lady Stubbs eats only black food, she lives in a cave and works at the Arnolfini bookshop; if you would like to hear more of her life story go and see her.
John Stark
John Stark likes how myths and legends make sense of the world, everyday he goes to
his studio and paints like it's a is a ceremonial exploration of the hermetic
labyrinth, where the dead stuff of paint becomes charged, like hosts such as bread and
wine becoming sacred through ritual blessing or blood becoming paint on sacrificial
totems... When he finishes for the day sometimes is 'call to the wild' desires are
satisfied.
