| The Cube Microplex presents There And Back
Again Workshop: |
| The main intention of the workshop is to
develop a disaster recovery plan for the SPARROR server. |
| Last month, we had 3 consecutive power surges
destroying 2/3 thirds of SPARROR's file system. A disciplined backup
policy enabled us to rebuild the server within 24 hours. |
| We have also installed an uninterruptable power
supply (UPS), which should keep the server and internet connection
running for hours in case of power failure. |
| During the workshop we would like to formalise
our protective practices as a document, which could be tugged from the
charred rubble of a devastated Cube and used to get SPARROR running
again. |
| We would also like to have a broader debate
concerning the wider issues of disaster in the SPARROR community.
SPARROR is a human systems network, which is vulnerable to all kinds
of personal and community risks eg legal, financial, health. We think
it is worth discussing protection and recovery from these risks. |
| Anyhow, hope to see you there. |
