The main intention of the workshop is to develop a disaster recovery plan for the SPARROR server.

Last month, we had 3 consecutive power surges destroying 2/3 thirds of SPARROR's file system. A disciplined backup policy enabled us to rebuild the server within 24 hours.

We have also installed an uninterruptable power supply (UPS), which should keep the server and internet connection running for hours in case of power failure.

During the workshop we would like to formalise our protective practices as a document, which could be tugged from the charred rubble of a devastated Cube and used to get SPARROR running again.

We would also like to have a broader debate concerning the wider issues of disaster in the SPARROR community. SPARROR is a human systems network, which is vulnerable to all kinds of personal and community risks eg legal, financial, health. We think it is worth discussing protection and recovery from these risks.
