Around her eightieth birthday, my grandmother expressed a wish to once again (and this time together with me) to visit her birth place, a village called Primislje, situated in Kordun, now in the foreign country of Croatia. She left Primislje aged of fourteen, just before the start of the Second World War, shortly followed by her family and had not returned for 45 years.In the meanwhile one more war devastated the region.
Soon after my grandmother expressed her wish to return, we were on the way to Primislje guided by her stories...
